About the event
With the overwhelming response to our first Yin & Reiki Experiences, we have decided to create a 7 part series exploring the 7 Chakras and their related Meridians in the body. There will be monthly sessions dedicated to each Chakra and its related Meridians.
We will begin at the bottom with the root chakra, Muladhara which is related to the Kidney & Urinary Bladder Meridians. The word Muladhara breaks down into two Sanskrit words: Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.” the root chakra is responsible for your sense of safety and security.
Reiki Practitioner Emma Sinclair and Yoga Teacher Ellie Johns will be joining forces to bring you this incredibly relaxing and healing Yin & Reiki Experience. Indulge in this 2 hour Yin and Reiki class where you will be guided by the relaxing sounds of Ellie's soothing voice, with long-held yin poses and meditative sounds. Emma will be spending time with each person in the room, providing reiki healing energy throughout the class.
What is Yin?
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine. A true practice in unwinding and letting go. Yin yoga is a passive practice in that you work to relax all of the muscles and stretch the ligaments, tendons and fascia, which will result in a longer resting length of your connective tissue. In this class, we will move through some slow, long-held, floor-based postures - using bolsters blankets and blocks to ensure you feel supported and relaxed.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically; on the whole body, mind and spirit. Reiki is a treatment whereas natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki practitioner to the body of the recipient. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to relieve stress and pain, induce relaxation, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing, balance subtle bodies energies and support other medical modalities including traditional therapies. Emma will channel the Reiki energy through her hands and direct it to students where she feels it is needed.
